Break it down on the board in your browser — auto-cut your game tape with the free desktop app.
Every clip, replayed as a 2D court animation. Watch tracked players and the ball move in real time, draw motion trails, edit keyframes, and export broadcast-ready tactical breakdowns. Includes a full Animation Editor with text / drawing annotations and one-click MP4 export.
AI watches your footage and automatically isolates each offensive possession into its own clip — no dead air, no timeouts, no commentary. Just the plays that matter, ready to review, trim, and download. A free desktop app for Windows and macOS.
Windows 10+ · macOS 12+ · free · needs a HoopLix account to run the AI
Feed in game tape and Smart Clip cuts out the offense–defense possessions — fast and accurate. Perfect for your own film review, and the starting point for tactical analysis.
Place every player on the play, capture their movement paths, and project it all accurately onto a clean 2D court.
Two finished looks from one play: analysis animation overlaid on the original video, or a brand-new flat tactical-board animation.
Mark up the play directly on the video — quick, simple notes drawn right on the footage, saved to your Drive and ready to share.
Run the 2D animation and the original footage side by side — the real action and the tactical view, together in one frame.
Reframe to a vertical 9:16 layout built for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok teaching clips — no cropping in another app.
A 2D view shows where players actually stand on the floor, how they move, and how the formation evolves — far clearer than broadcast footage.
Exports are full-frame video files — drag the timeline back and forth freely, frame by frame, and replay a rotation or an off-ball run as many times as it takes to learn it.
Layer text and drawing annotations on top of the animation, turning every play into a clear, teachable tactical breakdown.

Every pack you receive is a recorded grant with its own balance and expiry. The My Packs page shows exactly what’s left in each one, down to the run.
Limited promotional and purchasable top-up packs will appear in the in-app Packs store. The Welcome Pack is the first of them — and it’s free.

HoopLix turns basketball game footage into clean 2D tactical animations. Tactical Studio replays any clip as a court animation — tracked players, the ball, editable keyframes and motion trails — right in your browser. Its companion, Smart Clip, is a free desktop app that auto-cuts full game tape into ready-to-review plays.
Three steps. Smart Clip finds the plays: it auto-cuts the offense–defense possessions out of your game tape. Initialize Key Frames places every player on the play and projects their movement onto a clean 2D court. Then edit the animation and export it — overlaid on the original video, or as a brand-new flat tactical-board animation.
Yes — HoopLix is free during the beta. The Early Access plan includes 2 GB of storage, 1 Smart Clip + 5 Tactical Studio runs per month, and up to 3 AI runs per day. Standard ($9.99/mo) and Pro ($29.99/mo) plans open after launch, and every new account starts with a free Welcome Pack of extra runs.
No. HoopLix works with ordinary game video — regular broadcast-style footage is all it needs. There are no sensors, no wearables and nothing to install on the court.
Smart Clip is HoopLix's free desktop app for Windows and macOS. Its AI watches your footage and automatically isolates each offensive possession into its own clip — no dead air, no timeouts, no commentary — with frame-accurate trimming and batch export. It's free to download; you sign in with your HoopLix account to run the AI.
HoopLix is court-aware for NBA, NCAA (college), FIBA (international) and high-school courts — both when Smart Clip cuts possessions and when Tactical Studio projects the play onto the 2D court.
